ATC

I really enjoy making ATC cards.   I like playing with the inks and odd images.   I am in a swap so I get to make a few a month.   I keep forgetting to take pictures of them, but for now on I will.    To be honest, I lost my insurance for a few month and had to go on a different med.  I wasn't feeling myself.  I picked up insurance with my jon and am back on my regular med.  I am  starting to feel myself again.

 

Summer time!

  I live at the Jersey shore, some people think that sounds amazing and that we all go to the beach every day.   I've not been in about four years, and it's two min from my house.    Some locals go a lot, but most of us work second jobs etc.  My kids get to only work in summer because everything closes in winter so I become a taxi in the summer and I also work a second job.   I plan to get there one of these days.  Maybe next weekend.   ( I say that every week).

  I made a few of this style of card, it's an image I requested from Unity.   I think shes perfect and kinda looks like me. (if only my thighs didnt touch. haha) 

  Hope your taking some time to enjoy summer, it's only here for a short time.  We will all be freezing soon enough.

Thoughts

Someone once asked me the other day what I do with my cards.   I was like a mail them.   They did not really get that.    Think about how nice it would be to get a card from and aunt or a cousin just saying hello or how are you.    That's what I do.   I send to nieces, cousins and friends.  Even friends from childhood days.   I enjoy it, I like knowing that it makes people happy.    If you have not mailed a card to someone randomly try it.    There are a few people that don't thank you or respond and that can be frustrating but keep it up.

  If you have not written to to your friends and family for a while I encourage you to do so.   It's a great feeling knowing you made someones day.

Fluttering by!

   This card was a dream to make.  I absolutely love this lay out.  I found the sketch on pinterest and knew it would be perfect for this card.   This stamp set is an old one.    I wish they continued this line with these little bears but they did not.  It's a MFT stamp I believe.

   This summer is flying.  It's been super busy. I've hardly had any time to create.

For this card I cased a cardmaker I'm friends with.  Her name Is Tenia and her cards are amazing.  You can see her work HERE!    I made a few of these cards for my nieces.  I should of thought that they will probably not know what a cassette even is...HAHAH...

Focus

Using This  new stamp again from Unity, by Angie Blom.   I love the lines of this like a sketch.   It's really funny to color and does not need much to have a big impact.  I used chit chat sentiment from Tim Holtz..  It's really great, it has tons of phrases.

Trust the Journey

I don't know about you, but when I find paper that perfectly matches cardstock and embellishments I get a little excited.   This paper just so happened to match some card stock I had.  (not the same company either)!  So I feel like this card is a win!

Today is a good day!

I wrote this on Monday, I took the day off from work.  It was sunny and about 68 outside, I spent a very large part of the day making cards.  So, I'd say it was a good day.

This card is from Rubber Moon Stamps, They have some really cool artist.  This stamp is from Sunny Carvalho and its called squidbrella.   You can check out the stamps HERE!  I love odd images, so if you know of a company that makes them please drop me a comment.

I used distress oxides on bristol smooth paper.   I attached the clouds with tiny Tim Holtz staples.  Colored with copics. 

You brighten my day!

Unity has a line of Cuddlebug stamps.   They all are in this style I own two.  This butterfly is so cute.

Focus on things

I knew when this stamp was release over at UNITYSTAMPCO.   I had to have it.   I don't buy often, and it has to be something that speaks to me.  This was one of those omg I have to have it stamps.   Unfortunately most of unity does that to me.   They are deeply etched red rubber stamps on cling foam.   This set is called focus on the things.   The washi tape is from hobby lobby   I colored with copics.     I hope today you find something that makes you happy.   Take a second and speak to God, or just breath in the scent of spring...what ever floats your boat, just take a second to focus on something good.   Right now we all need a little of that!

A very long four years!

Four years ago my husband came home from work and informed me he'd like to go to nursing school.   Well, he did and this past Wednesday he was pinned.   It was a hard road and a long one.  Four years of ups downs stress and worry.  He did it!   I've had company since the 9th.  Not much time in my stamp room.  I am so proud of my husband.  He starts on his bachelors degree at Rutgers University in the fall.   So, he''s not really done but hopefully the hardest part is behind us, and he'll soon have a job that offers us insurance.   (something we desperately need)  So, here we are with our youngest son!

I'll be back tomorrow with a cute card using a new stamp from Unity stamp co.

a little beach card

Living at the beach I think I'll get a lot of use from these adorable seagulls from My Favorite Things.

  I don't actually go to the beach often.  It's been about 4 years.   I did by a beach tag this year, so well see.  I really hope to find time to relax and read.  I think its important to spend time on ourselves.

sunday funday!

We had two gorgeous days here is southern New Jersey.  Then today BAM cold and rainy.  I'm ready for warmer days and not wearing coats and ugg boots.  I'm so over being cold.

  For todays card I used a stamp from UNITY stamp co.  If you go over to the site everything is over 50% off for their birthday celebration.   Take a look their is really something for everyone.  They have over 60,000 images.  They are cook to order so the make the stamps when you place and order.   I usually get them in about a week.  Shipping is also four dollars so they are very reasonable.

This card is simple, can be recreated easily.   I colored the flower with zig real brush markers. pattern paper and that is about it.  easy but pretty. 

Follow your dreams

Hi guys,  Today I'm sharing a card from the Cats Pajamas the images are really cute.   They are easy to color too!  You can purchase them here!  The stamps are affordable and shipping is pretty fast.

I again used distress oxides for the back ground.   I used a piece of clear plastic to place the ink where I wanted.  It's another easy technique.   Most everyone knows how to do this stuff, So, I won't bore you with the details.

One thing is for sure, I use a lot of UNITY stamps.  This is in the angie girl line.   If you have not check them out, you should.   They run sales every weekend.  not all the stamps are always on sale so check back often to see if what you want is on sale.  There is a facebook group called Unity show and tell.  It's the nicest group of women.  It remind me of the closeness of the two peas girls (remember two peas in a bucket) from back in the day. 

Another thing that I absolutely love is Distress oxides!  You can buy them HERE.   They are so much fun.  I love the way the colors blend and swirl.  They make me happy.  Tim hit it out of the park with this one.  I don't own all the colors yet but I am working on it.  I used three colors for this card.  Super easy and makes a big impact.  In my opinion.  haha

shaker card

I have a love hate for Shaker cards.  They are not hard but not easy.  Id say tricky maybe.  I feel like they always need something and I can't pin point what.   I tried this little guy here.  Its not my best work, but sometimes you have to show your struggles not just your best ones.  right.

this little guys is from stampotique originals.  its a wood mount stamp ( remember them)   I like the feel of wood mount stamps...feels like the good ole days.!

 

Stenciled card

This card was a ton of fun to make.  I used a stencilgirl stencil   I used disteress oxides and micro glaze to create the back ground. you can get those product at  My favorite store, Joggles.com they have sales and great prices.  check them out on youtube too.    The paper doll is from Tim Holtz and I placed some regular ole stick glue and put deco foil on top of that.  for some bling.  The stamp in the background is another from UNITYSTAMPCO.COM

a little hello.

It's been a hot minute.   I will be super real here, I was sick, very sick for a long time.   I finally got help.  I was diagnosed with severe depression.   I now take meds to help fight it and feel like a human again.  it was a very hard time in my life.  I stopped making cards.  I hid from my family and friends.   I didn't think I was sick because I was on anti depressants so it could not be that right?? wrong.   if you or someone you loves is in a depression there is help out there.   I had no idea how sick I was until I got better.  It does get better.

  So, now that I am creating cards again I thought I'd revive this very old blog of mine.   Its way out of date and may take me a bit to figure out how to revive it.   IF your here and you used to visit me welcome back...if your new howdy.

  The last blog was from 2012 and my last entry was 2013....was I really sick that long...geesh I wish I could tell my self back then that there is hope.

Well let's see where this thing goes!
