Friends of Unity, October Blog hop!

Welcome to Octobers Friends of Unity Blog hop, This months theme is Change.  I had to really think on this one.   It was a hard theme for me.  I hope you enjoy what I came up with.

Before we get started  my WINNER, of the itty bitty stamp from UNITY, is  MEG CRAWFORD , Please email me ladybryson@hotmail.com to claim your prize within the month.   Please put Unity PRIZE in the subject line so I don't loose ya in all my junk mail.

HAPPY WORLD CARD MAKING DAY, I HOPE YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO GET CRAFTY TODAY.

Okay, now onto these projects.

I am a huge Tim Holtz fan,  I dug into my altered creative side to come up with this one.  I hope you like it as much as I do.  Sometimes it's hard to believe we create from just plain paper.

For this card I used the steel ruled die, Tattered leaves Item #656972 and cut from canson water color paper.  I embossed it with the wood grain 3D folder, I then colored it with  three distress oxide sprays.  I wound up using Mustard seed, Candied apple red and Mowed lawn.  I'll be honest at first it was looking like the Italian flag, be patient when using the sprays, and spritz a little water to get things moving.   I colored the UNITY girls sweater and hair with ZIG markers, and distress marker for the skin.  For the final project is sprayed with distress mica spray.  I love that stuff and use it a lot,   The edges are distressed with espresso distress ink and so is the sentiment.   I added a few enamel dots from Gina Marie designs.  and there you have it.

For the Unity girl, I used the kit  She never says never  that you can find HERE.She is really large, and the sentiments that come with her are amazing.   The sentiment is from a smaller kit called  Bravely Change, you can find it HERE!

Here  is a close up so you can see a little better.  I hope you like it.

Now, onto my next project,  This technique was NOT my idea I found it at the AMAZING Stacys, blog.  You kind can find her blog about this technique  HERE!.  She designs for Tim Holtz.

When Making cards, Don't be afraid to incorporate altered designs or techniques to cute cards, This crazy background was super fun and super easy.  I used Cuddlebug Count Found HERE, with some of Tims new bats from sizzix.   Super quick super easy.

You may be wondering what change has to do with this card, I was grasping here, and HE wants to change you into a Vampire ;)  Hey, I tried LOL

Oh my! The first card is absolutely amazing! The colors and the texture of the colors and patterns are incredible. I need to play more with ink combinations like this. The vampire bat card combines cute and mysterious very well!
