Greener living!!

Hello Green bloggers,

How are we all today? Today I am going to talk about clean green!! lol It's the new thing, Clorox now makes green products, the good thing about that is, well, it's easy. You can find it locally, and it's safe.

There are a number of companies that make products for cleaning. I do buy the green cleaning products. I wanted to do the vinegar window wash and stuff, but I am a tad lazy. LOL

If we use green cleaning supplies, we can save the environment over 40 pounds of toxic chemicals . That is a lot if you think about it. (this is per household)

Here are some websites that you can check out!!

www.shaklee.com

www.seventhgeneration.com

www.ecover.com

www.mrsmeyers.com

Here is a site that can help you make your own cleaning goods. www.greenpeace.org/usa. or www.eartheasy.com

If you would like to learn how to read the labels you can go to these sites. www.greenerchoice.org/eco-labels the link is on house hold cleaners.

I like the smell of the Clorox green products. So, far I have used everything except the floor cleaner. I have to run out of the old stuff first. I do use it for the walls and the bathroom cleaner, and it does a really nice job. The only thing I need to find is something like comet. I know there is one made with eggshells, I just have to look for it.

Thanks for helping me go green.

Thanks for the tips! I try to clean green just because the fumes are so bad for my asthma and I chiropractor tells me it is so unhealthy for my body to have to process all the toxins I am breathing! I use plain baking soda as a comet alternative and it usually works perfectly!

My tip is to use microfibre cloths , sometimes they are called E-cleaning cloths. I am sure you have them over the pond too! You just use hot water, no chemicals at all and it cleans really well. There is another cloth in the pack for shining things like taps so you don't get any smears. The only cleaning products I use right now are dishwasher and clothes cleaning products and a toilet cleaner (not bleach).

Thanks for the tips! I wonder about your opinion on stuff I already have that's not green; is it better to just use it til its gone and get green products when I need new things? Or toss the ickies?? Such a struggle. I hate to waste anything.

I think it’s great that you’re talking about green cleaning products. It’s so important that we get all the toxic chemicals out of our houses. There’s a great summary of what toxins are in “traditional” home cleaners at this website. Pretty scary stuff!
