Long Life !

This card was a little fun and a little frustrating. I kept placing the little 1/4" pieces down and then would realize the glue was sticking out or it was not in the place I wanted... So, my advice if you would like to do this style card. Use glue not adhesive tape. The tape is so sticky I could not re-lift the paper.. I covered everything in copper ink. You probably can't see it. But, irl it looks nice.

Simple Sunday !

I guess simple cards are the theme for today. My lovely ds is being a bear and not letting me get to inky. It's a rainy humid day here in South Jersey. At the beach today we found two things you don't see everyday. (we live on the Delaware bay)
1. A shark. Not sure what kind. It may have been a baby great white...LOL
2. a conk (sp) shell with the animal still inside. ewwwww. It was wacky looking..ack.
Could not be down there to long it was so hot. This card reminds me of a nice cool day....lazy and free.

Friendship card.

Friday I had the chance to go up north to see my "mom" Linda. It was a rough ride. Had a flat and needed a new tire. $133 bucks later I had a new tire and was on the road. Smooth sailing from there. I was there 15 min late or so. I don't like being late. The store was awful. I usually like this store. It was 100% a scrapbook store. She sent an email about new stamps. Well, the only stamps she had were for scrapbooking. I was let down. I barely spent any money. I got 2 pcs of paper and some ink. She carries most of rangers inks' but was out of a lot. I also asked her about the new Tim holtz carries she really did not sell me on them so I did not buy them.

Lunch was so nice, and Mom's hair is growing in very curly and it looks so so nice. She looked good. I was happy to see her. I miss my sister and we talked about how much we both would like to visit her in Nashville. Well, once that baby gets her I Will be forced to fly down..

The Penny (the novel)

Okay, It's been one of those weeks. I was trying to post cards everyday this week. As you can see that did not happen.
One: work was crazzzzy as usual.

Two I bought The Penny By: Joyce meyer.

What a book, I have never really been much of a reader, but this book kept me up till 2am. For those of you who don't really know me. I don't stay up past 9. (9 is very late for me LOL) I went to walmart to see what type of back to school gear they might have. I was also hopeing they would have this book. I ran to look oh, there it was with it's very simple cover. I was so happy I told a perfect stranger that I found the book. She smiled. (must of thought I was a bit nuts). I read a tiny piece of this book in Joyce meyer's magazine. I was taken back by it and have awaited it's July release ever since. It's set in St. Louise in 1955 I can just picture the heat and all it's surroundings. I don't want to spoil it BUT...

I will tell you this. The girl in the story is abused by her father and so is her sister. If you don't care about those facts don't read this book. It does not go into gross detail, but it paints the picture enough. I am to chapter 14 I am gonna finish it now. Please if you like a good book grab it. It's worth it.

On a different note. I am going up north to visit with my Ma, Were going to do some shopping. I will post what I make tomorrow night....

One touch of nature....

I had such a nice weekend. I went down to the bay everyday with my youngest son. He would play at waters edge as I just sat and watched all the people. Sometimes, the people are more fun to watch than the waves.
My house was empty this weekend, it was just me and the little guy. No naps for me, but we rode our bikes went to the bay every day and got to play. I made a deal that I would get some time to make a few cards. This is one that I came up with. It's very simple but pretty.

Giggle

What a fun thing to do....Laugh, I love to make people smile. I am always tricking people at work and doing goofy dances. I just like to have fun. This card was done at a su party. It's a nice easy card. You take your corner rounder and do all the ends of a 2x2 square. Then you turn them inside out. makes that neat design. All supplies su. Design by. Sue Selfridge.

Are we having fun yet??

This was a fun card to make. I did a few of them, I liked this one because of the colors. I enjoy doing these types of cards. I don't usually do them on my own. Today I played with Ms. Joan oh she is a true stamp queen. Her room is out of this world. She just got this stamp and invited me to play. This is what I came up with. I love this little boys sad face. He is just so darn cute. My youngest gives me this face when there is something he wants. Yes it does work!!

The story behind the butterfly!!

I was thinking today that I really need to post on here a lot more. I want to but the past week was so darn busy. I was gonna sit down tonight and make a card. I looked around and realized there is no way I can make a card until I clean up this mess. There is no way my children would get away with having there rooms look like this...!!lol

I was looking at some older cards and I always like this card. For two reasons. This butterfly is my Tattoo. It's a special one. On January 10th 2005 My sister in law Vanessa was killed in the La Conchita mudslide in Ventura co. California. She was 27 years old. I don't think I have ever had such emotion before. I don't know if it's because I not only had to tell my husband but my children also. For Christmas the following year my Mother In law had the tattoo made into a stamp.. Oh, the tattoo do you see her initials in it.. VJB. It makes up the butterfly. My brother in law drew it. I like to stamp with it, even know it's sad. It keeps me remembering..

Oh that I had wings like a dove I would fly away and be at rest.. Psalm 55:6

God's holding her now...I miss you Vanessa..

Bella Card

I just love bella stamps. At the moment I only have two but am waiting on an order to get here. If you would like to check them out go visit her site. http://www.stampingbella.com It takes a little while to get them. BUT it is well worth the Wait. They are unmounted so I use ezmount..

This card if from this weeks challenge over at 2pp's. I can honestly say this was really hard for me. I almost gave up. I wanted the words. ART GIVES YOU WINGS. But the font I have was not working. So the image does not really work but oh well, it's gotta for now. I don't have a lot of focal image stamps. I think I am gonna have to buy some. LOL

Pearl ex card's.

Just wanted to show these closer up. Hope you try this. It's really easy, quick & fun..

Pearl Ex Card w/ instructions

I must say I don't know who came up with this idea. I don't own it I did'nt think of it. I took it at my stamp club yesterday by Sue Selfridge. I thought would share it here.

You will need:
Cardstock.
Elmers glue or =
Pear ex
a duster
heat gun & heat safe mat.
adhesive of your choice
clear matt spray sealer.
Black ink pad
stamp of your choice to fit in small square.
6 -brads

First cut out all your pieces.

The following pieces are white:
Base card 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
3x3
1 1/2 x 1 1/2

The following are in black:
5 1/4 x 4
2 3/4x 2 3/4
1 3/4x 1 3/4

set all your pieces aside and keep out your 2 3/4 piece of black cardstock out.

cover it with elmers glue. don't over do it but you want it completely covered

then cover your whole piece with pearl x. you must have every inch covered. use a spoon or toothpick. If you get clumps it's okay. You may need to shake it around. it will look like a mess. take a light brush and kinda brush all the clumps away it will now be flat. If you have any raised areas they will be more textured. If you like the textured look don't really brush much off..

tap it lightly to get off any exta. Take your heat gun to it. (Do this on a heat safe thing)

Be carefull it get's HOT. the thicker the glue the more it will bubble. If your glue is thin it won't bubble at all. Your just drying the glue. DOes not take long.

after it cools take it out and spray with the adhesive sealer.

then all you do is matt and attach your pieces. place three brads to either side and done. that simple.

Any questions please ask. This is my first post with instructions....

Alcohol Inked card!!

I love Alcohol inks. I really love the colors the way they add a touch of art to a simple card. Some of you may not call this an artsy card. I do, I love the way the colors landed and the little butterfly added that little something. I used a three colors and three drops. I just blew on them to move them around. It's fun try it.

Yesterday, we went to see RAT TAT TOOOEEE.. oh what a fun movie, We enjoyed it. I was very tired at work. We had to see the 7:40 movie.. yikes. I think I will create a card using a house mouse stamp in honor of the movie...LOl
