Remember the thirsty!
"Water is life's matter and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water."
- Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, Nobel Laureate
*Currently over 1 billion people in the world do not have access to an improved drinking water source.
*The money that North America spends on soda/pop each year would be enough to solve the clean water crisis.
*$1 provides one year of clean water for a person in Africa.
"Let us become the change we seek in this world."
-Mohandas Gandhi
BUT I'M JUST ONE PERSON. WHAT CAN I DO?
A percentage of the proceeds from every "Remember the Thirsty" shirt sold goes to the effort to end the clean water crisis in the world. Beyond buying a shirt:
*Continue to educate yourself on the issues. Don't let your knowledge of the clean water crisis stop at this post.
*Promote clean water issues. Raise awareness in your community or school by speaking out for the world's thirsty.
*Come up with creative ways to raise money to build life changing water systems for those dying of thirst.

Amen to the need for clean water! Working at World Vision I hear way too many stories about what happens when people have to drink dirty water. I just read one about a woman who had 4 kids die from diahrea due to dirty water! Fortunately there was a happy end to it---we dug a well in her community, and now she also has a job tending the well.
