Stamp Camp !!

What a nice Saturday. I, went to my Mom's, house. She live about an 2 hrs away. I, got up at 6 and was out of my house at 7 to take the trip. It was a nice ride. There were hardly any cars on the park way. Once there I took a peek in my, moms room. I got to see some of the cards she is making for the troops. It was nice to see what she has been up too. From there we went to dunkin donuts. mmm mmm good. So, on the way to stamp camp we, went to Joann's This is a newer store and I have not been in one since it was just a plain ole' store that sold fabric. I was so shocked.....It was such a nice store. We did not stay long. I glanced at all the pretty writing on the wall, the clean floors I only spent 12 dollars. This is a first for me. I am being a good girl.

After about another hour of driving. We, arrived at our destination. The home was lovely and the hostess and her mom were a delight. We entered the basement where there were 8 round & square tables set up. Each table was labeled with a little funny note and the project for that table along with the supplies like ink etc..

We got our little bag that had our kits for each table. We went to table one and put our bad down and took a peek at the food table. Mrs. Baylis, had a lovely display of Christmas villages all along the wall it was so pretty. So, that took up time until we were ready to begin.

There were 21 women there. We, had 23 min to complete our project. Picture a round robin make n take. It was fun. I did not feel to rushed and had time to snack and drink in between. It went from 1-5. We made 15 cards 3 each of 6 designs. We made 18 tags. 3 designs. we made an ornament and a decorated a jar full of brownie mix...Yummy.

I spent less than 50 bucks and got all my supplies that I need for my Christmas cards. I could not afford the set from the mini that I had my heart set on. But, I think my cards will be nice none the less.

This week I will be sharing what I made. I, am having surgery on Friday so please pray for me. It's my choice to have it done. Well, I am having my tubes tied. So, I may be a little icky this week.

I am meeting a pea from 2pp's this weekend for the first time. I am so excited. My house is torn up we just have been so busy with football and having some work done. I have been told she is here to meet me and my stamps not my messy house...LOL

I will share some photos tomorrow. I gotta get batteries for the camera. duh... Thanks for reading my blog.......

Wedding Card!!

My husband, is performing his first wedding this Saturday. It's a very very informal wedding. NO fancy anything. So, I needed to make a simple wedding card. This is what I came up with. This is my first wedding card.

Busy life!!

Hello All,

Sorry, I have been sooo busy! Life has been nuts around here. I have to make a wedding card for the first time tonight or tomorrow so I will post that later. My husband is performing his first wedding on Saturday. I won't be there, but he is happy to do it. It's for his co-worker. A old school country bumpkin so it's pretty informal.

Altered book !!

For the last two years I have been working on 2 round robins with altered books. This is my last one. WOOO HOOO.

This is for serenity, with out words. I painted the flowers and the Asian symbol with black acrylic paint. I added glitter to the wet paint and some copper to the "flowers". I made a Gothic arch with some Asian stamps. and added a deep red button for a tiny bit of color. I also added the wings that will crackle over night.

I like to do abstract work. I have two paintings in my house. I have a bunch of canvas that is ready for me. Hope to get working on that again soon.

Happy Fall Ya'll !!

I love love love the fall. Tomorrow is the first day of fall. Since I will be away for football tomorrow I thought I would do a lot of my fall stuff today. I got all my fall decorations out. I have to go get mums and pansies for the yard. I hope husband will buy them for me!!!! hint hint. ( he is sitting here and asked me who dh was so I changed it!!)

This card is for the weeks sketch over at 2pp's. She did a great job with this sketch. I used a su wheel instead of ribbon. Hope to post more this week. I am creating in between chores.

I don't like diets....

Well, I have to say this diet thing is not going so well. I gained again. Another pound. So , tonight I kicked it up. Instead of going to ds football practice I took the time to run 15 min on the treadmill and then ran to the beach and back. (that is only 2 blocks..)

I know my eating habits have not been good the last week. Two day at the office they bought us lunch chips and hoagies one day and the next was our office end of summer party. I had motz sticks, chicken, sushi, etc....

So, this week has been better. We will see what the scale says next week. I am gonna really try to get up early to walk on the mill again..Thanks for following...

This card was for Sandy's 5 challenge. It's a day late and a dollar short..LOL Pc was down so I could not get it on here till today..

The last week has been so so so busy. My son is in football and it takes up a lot of time. He went to his first dance on Friday. He looked so darn cool. He was so excited. So, I think this weekend will be a little better. I think I will need to get into the swing of things soon. I have not made anything other than this simple card.

Diet WOES =(

Well, today we got weighed in for our first week of trying to loose weight...

I GAINED A POUND...... How oh how could I have gained. I guess it's all that muscle I have gained. rrrrggggggg

Work has been good. Someone bought in danish's today and candy I HAD NONE. Tomorrow is hoagies and chips, because someone is bringing us lunch. So, I guess I will have a small piece and NO chips...I can do this. I can do this...

Gothic Arch

Hello blog reader. This is another Gothic arch. I am really having some fun. I know this one also needs a little something, but I am getting there. Thank you for all your really nice comments on the other.

I remember.....

I will never ever ever forget September 11, 2001. I was at work when I first heard about what was happening. One of our patients was in the waiting room about to cry, His son was in NYC. Another patient rushed in wanting to know what was happening her two nephews worked there also. For me living just a few hours from NYC, it seems like so many people I knew were effected. Once of my closest friends lived there. Her dad worked below the trade center. My mom (who lives here now) was not far from where those heroic men and women brought that plane down. I will never ever ever forget that day.

My son who was then in the 5th grade, was sitting watching everything with me. I let him see it, I was not sure if I should. He turned to me and asked, if those were people falling from the tower..(we were watching footage from earlier). I said yes Kenny they are. I am crying, because, I have never seen my son cry for another life before. It was so heart wrenching to see him learn the fate of those remembered men & women.

I felt the pain of these people for weeks and weeks after everything was said and done. I still feel the grief of those who were there. I am not sure those images will ever leave my head. I have never gone back to see ground zero. To be honest I am afraid to. I am afraid to hear and feel that any closer than I do now. I am not sure that I can every fully express the pain I felt. I wish I could hug every single person that survived or had someone lost. I wish I could tell them that after all the pain there is still a God that loves them. I wish they new how Jesus wept that day, like the rest of us. We saw true evil on September 11. I believe that they were complete evil. I hope no other family member will be effected by this type of evil. I know that every day one of our soldiers is killed. I know that Innocent people are being hurt. I hate it. I hate it more than you know.

I pray for all those affected by September 11..

AHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Hello fellow bloggers. I just wanted to let you know I will be posting cards very soon. It is back to school week at our place and with football and school and all the other things life brings this time of year. I am finding it very hard to have some craft time. I have had football every night till 8 that means feed two kids at 6 and one at 8 plus homework, dishes etc.. Not to mention all the paper work they have us "parents" fill out. (If a husband would dear fill out paperwork)..to top it all of dh is working 3extra days. instead of 3 16 hr days he is doing 6 so I am totally on my own.

AND I WANT TO EAT ICE CREAMMM......AHHHHH

Diet days...So it begins....

Ack, ack. ack.....Yes today is the day we at my office started our diets. We got weighed in today. I was just over 150. My goal is 125. So, my struggles today were the usual, I had oatmeal for breakfast. I wanted eggs, but could not get to it in time. This new schedule will take a little while.. Getting the A.M.'s back in order will take a week or two.

So, I get to work after having 5 days off. Oh, I missed that place. I needed to get some work done and about 10 min into the day they said guess what pizza for lunch..Okay, so how do I resist the famous Sam's pizza from the boardwalk. I don't two slices later and I was still hungry..ugh...

I only had one grilled cheese and a little soup for din din.. Now I want a bowl of ice cream. I won't eat that...I promise.

Back to School !!!!!!!

Go boys Go.....Have a great year!! Ahh, My two younger boys started school today & I took the day off work..(maybe I will take a nap!)

Happy Labor Day!!

Ahhhh, Labor day I should refer to it as "The night before the school year". My house is full of wonder and worry about the first day. Me I am full of happy, because I will have the house to myself...LOL

Ds #3 has already picked his little outfit. Ds #2 is still not sure. The oldest well, he is in high school and will roll out of bed and pick something...

I am always happy when school starts. I am also a little sad. I will miss my little guy and he is soooo cute. He said he may cry when he gets on the bus...ahhhhh He's so cute.

Today I played with some "copy" cards. I added my own twist a little. the Happy is from the latest paper craft mag and the other is from the new su catty.

Happy mail.....

I have never really gotten happy mail. Boy lately I have. After Andi's awesome gift and a great card from Sandi.. I got some images from Sandi and a great mini accordion card. How cool is that. She also sent me some images. This is one of them. I used papier on the jar to make it look like glass. I colored the flowers with prisma pencils. I also used stickels..

Thank you Sandi for the awesome stuff. ..... Pay it forward......
